Ilia State University
Ilia State University is one of the flagship public research HEIs and the first HEI in Georgia to base its core undergraduate curriculum on the principles of liberal education.
ISU was established in 2006 on the basis of several different institutions. 21 research institutes and laboratories are actively engaged in research and graduate teaching. ISU strives to provide high-quality education and facilities rigorous research through innovative initiatives and policies.
ISU is the first HEI in Georgia to be successful applicant to coordinate the Tempus pogramme in Science Education (Student Active Learning in Science). ISU was a pioneer HEI to launch Education Science programs.
ISU aims at promoting education science and system in Georgia by designing new courses and carrying out research in the field.

Samtskhe-Javakheti State Teaching University
Samtskhe-Javakheti State Teaching University supports the initiatives and events for the introduction of European education and qualification. The University is actively enrolled in Bologna Process and follows the principle of Bologna Charter about the European University. According to this mission of the university is:
Increase professionally educated stuff, qualified specialists with high morality on basis of the protection and promotion of the human and national values;
Prepare competitive contingent for constantly changing Georgian labor market by help of the introduction of the modern methods of teaching, the effective side of quality assurance and the educational programs oriented on constant update;
Create an attractive environment for the students, academic staff, which first of all means full academic freedom – the academic personal and the students are free in their choice – they can choose the fields and directions of studying and research. Also they are free to choose any form of the university management, which ensures the proper implementation of the goals and objectives of Samtskhe-Javakheti State Teaching University;

The Centre for Civil Integration and inter-Ethnic Relations
The Centre for Civil Integration and inter-Ethnic Relations is a non-governmental, non-commercial organization established in 2005.
CCIIR works on issues of ethnic minority education, intercultural and bilingual education. CCIIR implemented more than 35 projects in the field of intercultural and multilingual education.
CCIIR has 8 operating in-service teachers’ professionals development programs in intercultural and multilingual education, teaching and learning Georgian as a second language, administration of diversity and multiculturalism in education.
CCIIR issued more than 150 publications including methodological and educational materials in the field of minority and intercultural education. CCIIR issues quarterly journal “Bilingual Education” since 2009.
